Store Front
Early in the development of Gosforth, we were considering a store front for purchasable pieces to use in the game.
The idea was that after purchasing an item, players would see an animation of unlocking the item that they purchased.
Blender
I modelled, hand painted and hand animated this sequence which served as a great lesson in some of the features in Blender that I had not used before: blend shapes, texture painting and animation curves.
Integration
This sequence served as vertical slice of the pipeline from idea to in-engine with audio and particles.
I learnt a lot about exporting from Blender into Unity, syncing audio with animations and how Unity some of the animation features differently to Blender.
